Image Surgery

And now for something completely different.

This is new to me.

Not blogs, or journals, or the idea of writing. Neither the web, hyperlinks and downloads. I’ve seen it all before, and have spent countless hours over the years practically glued to the screen reading all about anything anyone would write about. No, that part has been done before.

I’ve always been on the receiving end. Occasionally, I’d comment, or write to the author, or send an image. Now I’m turning the tables. I’m making a personal shift away from the internet-as-television unidirectional receive-only medium.

For now, it’s still vague what this will mean. What it will contain, how much work it will entail, what the message will be. I know some things, like I will focus on photography and other things which interest me, pass on interesting and funny things from people I know and the internet at large. The blog will evolve, slowly, both in a technical/design manner as well as content. It will be slow at first, perhaps painfully so. I thought it important to get a start, and that any start (at least one exhibiting a basic level of competence) would be preferable to perpetual procrastination.

My work, my life, my world will be here on display. And some of my photography will even be for sale. But the primary goal is to share interests, knowledge, to communicate with my friends, family, colleagues and strangers.
